  2. Real-Time Record Updates: Stay informed with instant updates on any changes to records, ensuring you’re always up to date and ready to respond.
  3. Preparation for Onsite Visits: Copilot helps you prepare for onsite visits by compiling necessary information and sending reminders, so you’re fully equipped and organized.

Enable Copilot in Modern Apps

Prerequisites and Licensing

To enable Copilot, administrators must activate the Copilot for Model-Driven Apps feature within the Power Platform Admin Center. Here are some key steps and requirements:

  1. Environment Setup: Each environment must explicitly allow generative AI, which can be activated in the settings. In regions where AI endpoints exist (such as Europe), no additional steps are required. However, if the environment is hosted in a region without AI endpoints, data may need to be moved across regions to enable Copilot.
  2. Licensing Requirements: A Dynamics 365 Field Service license is required to access Copilot. The use of Copilot within Teams also requires an additional Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

Add Copilot for App Users in Model-Driven Apps

To enable Copilot for your environment:

  1. Go to Power Platform Admin Center.
  2. Navigate to Environments > Settings > Features.
  3. Under the section Allow users to analyze data using an AI-powered chat experience, select On or Default.
    • On: Enables Copilot regardless of the licensing type.
    • Default: Activates Copilot for Dynamics 365 licensed environments, but keeps it off for PowerApps licensed environments.

By enabling Copilot, organizations can empower their field service teams to operate more efficiently, with real-time data and AI-driven assistance simplifying their daily tasks.
